Going Home (Antonín Leopold Dvořák) arr. by Iwaki Senda

Iwaki Senda’s arrangement of Going Home is based on the theme from Dvořák’s New World Symphony movement II: “Largo.” The nostalgic melody is perfectly suited for the marimba’s warmth, and the sustained rolls allow the performer to highlight their technique. Antonín Leopold Dvořák was a Czech composer and organist, and frequently employed rhythms and other aspects of the folk music of Moravia and his native Bohemia. Famous for his nationalist Czech music, Dvořák has been described as arguably the most versatile composer of his time.
